Having recently turned 21 years old I do not have much experience when it comes to wine. I have never had the opportunity to visit a winery and my go-to choice if I am out and get a drink with dinner is some sort of cider. I find wine very intriguing and would love to have the opportunity to learn more about the different types and what kinds I like-hence why I have enrolled in this course.
I have never been fond of red or darker wines. To be honest, if I pick up a bottle of wine at the store it is usually the a bottle of Barefoot wine (specifically the moscato.) The price is always in my range since I am a college student and I do enjoy the taste. As mentioned above I love ciders. Woodchuck, Angry Orchard, Ace and Bold Rock are my favorites. Sometimes people say that I like these lighter tastes because they have a similarity to wine-so I am hopeful that I can broaden my horizons by the end of the semester.
I have never taken the time to taste different wines since I have turned 21. Wine is very foreign to me if you can't tell. I think of wine as a sophisticated drink and something you must try a lot of to figure out what is right for you. I hope this course allows me to learn about the different types of wine, what foods pair well with wine and just overall information about this fantastic drink. At the end of this semester I hope I am putting something other than an $8.99 bottle of wine in my cart at Kroger.
